Ponsel Dual Mode di Indonesia

Pada bulan Desember 2006 ini PT. Samsung meluncurkan ponsel Dual Mode (GSM & CDMA) dengan sistem bundling PT. Mobile- 8.

Samsung SCH-W569 merupakan ponsel yang dilengkapi kamera 1,3 megapixel, layar TFT dengan resolusi QVGA (240x320 pixels) dan kedalaman warna 262.000 warna, bobot 105 gram, dimensi: 52,4 x 99 x 17,6 mm.

Dengan dilengkapi Fitur dual-mode, ponsel ini memungkinkan pengguna memakai nomor CDMA dan GSM dalam satu perangkat. Hanya saja penggunaannya tidak bisa secara bersamaan, dalam artian yang aktif hanya salah satu (CDMA saja atau GSM saja yang aktif).

Sebelumnya sekitar tahun 2004, Motorola pernah meluncurkan dual mode juga dengan tipe: A840. Adapun spesifikasinya: LCD TFT (Color TFT/TFD) 262,144 warna, kamera: 1,2 MP.

With Rev A, operators will be able to introduce advanced multimedia services, including voice, data and broadcast over all-IP networks. Rev A will be commercially available in 2H 2006.
CDMA2000 Revision B (Rev B) standard will be published in the first half of 2006. Rev B introduces a 64-QAM modulation scheme, and will deliver peak rates of 73.5 Mbps in the forward link and 27 Mbps in the reverse link through the aggregation of 15 1.25 MHz carriers within 20 MHz of bandwidth. A single 1.25 MHz carrier and an aggregated 5 MHz carrier in the forward link will deliver a peak rate of up to 4.9 Mbps and 14.7 Mbps, respectively. In addition to supporting mobile broadband data and OFDM-based multicasting, the lower latency characteristics of Rev B will improve the performance of delay-sensitive applications such as voice over Internet protocol (VoIP), push-to-talk over cellular, video telephony, concurrent voice and multimedia, and massive multiplayer online gaming. Rev B will be commercial in 2008.
CDMA2000 1X and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO are backward compatible with cdmaOne.

Tugu Khatulistiwa

Bila kita berkunjung ke Kalimantan Barat, khususnya ke Pontianak, tentunya sayang bila melewatkan kesempatan mengunjungi Tugu Khatulistiwa ini.

Tugu ini terdiri dari 4 buah tonggak kayu belian (kayu besi), dengan diameter 0,30 meter, dengan ketinggian tonggak bagian depan sebanyak dua buah setinggi 3,05 meter dan tonggak bagian belakang tempat lingkaran dan anak panah penunjuk arah setinggi 4,40 meter.
Diameter lingkaran yang ditengahnya terdapat tulisan 'EVENAAR" sepanjang 2,11 meter. Panjang penunjuk arah 2,15 meter.
Tulisan plat di bawah anak panah tertera 109o 20' OLvGr menunjukkan letak berdirinya tugu khatulistiwa pada garis Bujur Timur.

Ada peristiwa menarik dan menakjubkan di sekitar Tugu Khatulistiwa yaitu saat terjadinya titik kulminasi matahari (fenomena alam ketika matahari tepat berada di garis khatulistiwa). Pada saat itu posisi matahari akan tepat berada diatas kepala sehingga menghilangkan semua bayangan benda-benda dipermukaan bumi. Saat terjadinya peristiwa kulminasi tersebut, bayangan tugu akan "menghilang" beberapa detik saat diterpa sinar Matahari. Demikian juga dengan bayangan benda-benda lain disekitar tugu.
Peristiwa titik kulminasi Matahari itu terjadi setahun dua kali, yakni antara tanggal 21-23 Maret dan 21-23 September.

The CONTROL BUTTON of the Hameg HM 203-6 oscilloscope.

.screen: usually displays a V/t graph, with voltage V on the vertical axis and time t on the horizontal axis. The scales of both axes can be changed to display a huge variety of signals.

.on/off switch: pushed in to switch the oscilloscope on. The green LED illuminates.

.X-Y control: normally in the OUT position.
The X-Y control is used when you want to display component characteristic curves, or Lissajous figures.

.TV-separation: Oscilloscopes are often used to investigate waveforms inside television systems. This control allows the display to be synchronised with the televsion system so that the signals from different points can be compared.

.TIME / DIV: Allows the horizontal scale of the V/t graph to be changed.

.trigger controls: This group of controls allows the oscilloscope display to be synchronised with the signal you want to investigate.

.X-POS: Allows the whole V/t graph to be moved from side to side on the oscilloscope screen.

.X-MAG: In the IN position, the horizontal scale of the V/t graph is increased by 10 times. For example, if TIME/DIV is set for 1 ms per division and X-MAG is pushed IN, the scale is changed to 0.1 ms per division.

.CAL outputs: The top terminal gives a 0.2 V peak to peak square wave, while the lower terminal gives a 2 V peak to peak square wave, both at 50 Hz.

.component tester: The output socket provides a changing voltage which allows component characteristic curves to be displayed on the oscilloscope screen.

.Y-POS I and Y-POS II: These controls allow the corresponding trace to be moved up or down, changing the position representing 0 V on the oscilloscope screen.

.invert: When the INVERT button is pressed IN, the corresponding signal is turned upside down, or inverted, on the oscilloscope screen.

.CH I and CH II inputs: Signals are connected to the BNC input sockets using BNC plugs.

.VOLTS / DIV: Adjust the vertical scale of the V/t graph. The vertical scales for CH I and CH II can be adjusted independently.

.DC/AC/GND slide switches:

In the DC position, the signal input is connected directly to the Y-amplifier of the corresponding channel, CH I or CH II.

In the AC position, a capacitor is connected into the signal pathway so that DC voltages are blocked and only changing AC signals are displayed.

In the GND position, the input of the Y-amplfier is connected to 0 V. This allows you to check the position of 0 V on the oscilloscope screen.

The DC position of these switches is correct for most signals.
